"Bread Pudding" Preheat Oven to 350 Ingredients 6 slices of Day-Old bread (with crust removed) 4 eggs 2 cups of milk 1 teaspoon of vanilla 6 tablespoons melted butter or margarine 1/2 cut of sugar 2 tablespoons of sugar (to mix with) 1 teaspoon of cinnamon hot water (for water bath) raisins (optional) Grease a 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Brush each slice of bread with melted butter/margarine. Arrange in layers in baking dish; sprinkling each layer with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Cut bread into quarters. Beat the eggs just enough to blend thoroughly. Stir in the 1/2 cup of sugar, milk and vanilla. Stir until sugar dissolves. Pour over bread and raisins. Set baking dish in pan containing 1 inch of hot water (water bath.) Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until knife inserted 1/2 inch into custard comes out clean.
